The city by-pass was realised in different sections.
Section 1: Structures 1.2-1.4, crossing of national road B 104 (existing) incl. ramps and route up to km 2+730...
Section 1 embraces the construction of an access point incl. junction between the existing cross-town link (B104 existing) and the planned by-pass (B104 new). Therefore the national road B104 new is lead through a trough (structure 1.2) under the existing city by-pass. The clear width between the abutments adds up to 19.0 m. A minimum clear height for traffic of 4.70 m is required. The span length is 21.00 m. The trough construction has an overall length of 220.84 m and is divided into the parts open trough, trough with bridge superstructure, pump building. For the purpose of protecting the near residential areas noise barriers are built (structures 1.3 and 1.4).
Section 3: Structure 5 – Bridge as part of rural road L 03 crossing national road B 104, ramps and rain retention basin IV
For the new city by-pass Schwerin as part of the national road B 104 an overpass of the rural road L 03 and the connection to the planned city by-pass are necessary. Section 3 includes the soil engineering works and construction of lines for the drainage of surface water. The rain retention basin IV incl. inflow and drain line is constructed to serve as the required ditch. The bridge (structure 5) was implemented as a right-bent structure. The crossing angle between the axes of the routes is 81.8 gon. The clear width between the abutments adds up to 26.6 m. A minimum clear height for traffic of 4.70 m is required. The span length is 30.0 m.
Section 5: Road construction between km 2+730 and 7+800 (end), structures 2, 4/4.1, 4.2 and 7
Section 5 covers the route construction of the city by-pass between km 2+730 and km 7+800 with access to the national road B 106. Section 5 is divided into subsection 5.1 – four lane area, and 5.2 – two lane area. Further parts of this section are the construction of 2 underpasses of crossing ways (predominantly agricultural use, structure 2 and 7), one cycle way overbridge (structure 4.2) as well as the construction of 133 m of retaining walls and noise barriers. The route complies with class I. In the four-lane area the fastening width is 7.50 m in each direction, in the two-lane area – 3.50 m. The appendant connecting ramps are carried out as single-lane ramps according to class II.
