"Amber School” educational campus
Schoolchildren start using new facilities

The “Amber Town” of Ribnitz-Damgarten in the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is currently implementing one of the largest building projects in its history with the reconstruction and restructuring of the "Amber School" (or “Bernsteinschule”). The objective is to bring together all stages of the school system, including the associated after-school care centre, with a focus on inclusion. To this end, the school premises have been transformed over the past two years into an educational campus of significance for the entire region. In addition to the construction of a new primary school, the adjacent building has been renovated for the “orientation level” that follows primary school. The school campus now also includes a new gymnasium as well as other sports and outdoor facilities. The existing secondary school building is being renovated as part of another construction project.

Inros Lackner supported the project in the role of General Planner, with responsibilities also including site supervision. The start of the new school year in August 2023 saw parts of the school campus being used for the first time.
