Port project on Sylt island
General Planner services for the modernisation of the port of Hörnum
Since the port of Hörnum on the German island of Sylt was largely constructed in 1935, and last renovated almost 50 years ago, its waterfront facilities require to be renovated. The aim of the local authority is to develop the port - the only one on the island of Sylt - as an attractive public place. In addition to improving the port facilities, the renovation project also offers the opportunity to create new spaces for people to spend time and interact. It is planned to use further areas for restaurant facilities and places to relax.
Following a public procurement process, Inros Lackner was contracted to provide the required General Planner services for the expansion and modernisation of the port. The soil investigation work commenced in April 2022, and the results from this will be used to carry out detailed design work starting in autumn 2022.
