The population of Togo’s capital city has grown rapidly over recent years. However, the road network has never been upgraded to match the increase in population. Heavy goods vehicles circulate to and from the port and cause severe problems in the centre of Lomé. A bypass road linking the port to the main road RN1 in the north of Lomé has therefore been planned. Within the framework of a project funded by the German Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW), Inros Lackner was commissioned with the complete planning of the bypass road including the elaboration of tender documents and the local site supervision of the construction of 6.6 km road.
