Stabilisation of the Togolese Coastline
The area between Aného and Goumou Kopé required protection. On average, the volume of sand removed by sediment transport was superior to the volume of sand brought in, meaning that the area was subjected to heavy erosion. This phenomenon was observed In the coastal area between Goumou-Kopé and Aného, consequently threatening the adjacent villages (such as Adyéna Kondji, Asou Kondji, Evémé).
Quick coastal protection measures were required. Inros Lackner was responsible for the design and supervision of these works projecting groins to positively influence the sediment transportation running parallel to the coastline and as a result limiting coastal erosions in the area between Goumou-Kopé and Aného.
