The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transportation awarded Inros Lackner and its partners HP Gauff / Deco-IC with the project “Technical Assistance Programme for the rehabilitation of rural roads in Togo”. Financed by the KfW (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau)and the AFD (Agence Française de Développement) the aim of the project is to rehabilitate 911 km of rural roads. Comprised of three project components (two technical and one social and environmental components), the cotton company (NSCT-Nouvelle Société Cotonnière du Togo) and coffee industry would largely profit from these rehabilitation works. In developing better rural roads, industries would better perform and as a result provide more employment for local communities.
The project took place in all 5 Togolese regions, with the largest rehabilitation works being realised in the regions of Plateau, Central and Kara- The project is currently ongoing and is due to be completed by 2022.
