1st prize: Design convinces by accentuating the development’s waterside location
The design by the consortium of Gerber Architects from Dortmund and Inros Lackner SE came out on top in the architectural competition for the Petriviertel residential development on the Warnow river in Rostock, being award first prize. The design convinced by accentuating the development’s waterside location. The building design responded to the exceptional location of the property near the historic city wall with views of the Petrikirche church and the River Warnow wetlands. On the street side, a more closed, urban appearance is established, and at the courtyard side, balconies, loggias and sunrooms are notched as pushed-out residential cubes into the green area, creating a more private atmosphere.
