The new railway overpass in Kornwestheim in the Ludwigburg district near Stuttgart is an elaborate bridge construction and part of Deutsche Bahn’s modernisation of the railway line between Ludwigsburg and Stuttgart. The bridge is composed of two concrete parts that weigh approximately 3,800 t and are the size of a handball field. At the end of May 2021, a heavy-duty vehicle on 132 wheels transported these to their destination, centimetre by centimetre and one after the other. The demanding logistical requirements were successfully implemented, the bridge parts were joined together and the structure was opened to traffic. Inros Lackner was responsible for site supervision and site management on behalf of DB Netz AG.
