Oebisfelde Bypass
Opening to traffic of the second section

At the beginning of July 2021, the second construction phase of the Oebisfelde Bypass in northern Germany - part of the B188 federal highway - was opened to traffic. The completion of this stretch of road considerably reduces traffic in the districts of Weddendorf, Niendorf and Bergfriede. The highway forms an important east-west connection from Lower Saxony via Saxony-Anhalt to Brandenburg. The newly opened section is around 5.3 km long. In the course of the construction work, six bridges and an anti-irritation wall were built, ten agricultural roads were relocated, and two amphibian passages were extended. Inros Lackner, working in collaboration with IGS Ingenieure on behalf of Saxony-Anhalt’s state road construction authority, was responsible for site management and local site supervision.
