Building Information Modeling
Training models for public-sector clients

BIM – short for Building Information Modeling – represents the application of digitalisation in the construction industry. BIM enables design and construction processes to be controlled and managed more efficiently. As a client for projects across the country, Germany’s government intends to adopt the use of BIM on all federal construction projects. The joint venture Triple B was awarded the contract to carry out work packages 1 and 2 of the multi-stage implementation strategy "BIM für Bundesbauten” (“BIM for Federal Buildings"). The scope includes "user training". As a partner with significant practical experience in this field, Inros Lackner is supporting the joint venture with the creation of training models, including three similar models for architecture and one model each for support structure, heating, ventilation, sanitary facilities and electrical engineering.

The models were created using Revit, Archicad, Allplan, PlanCal and DDS-Cad, and intentionally feature geometric and semantic deviations to facilitate the application of rule-based checks. This enables users to learn what to do in various situations, ranging from the creation of design drawings and the coordination of specialist trades to the determination of quantities and costs and the finalisation of building documentation.
